Alberta Pacific

Owner: Warren Bjornson

The Alberta Pacific is a freelance regional railroad set in Alberta and British Columbia in 1958. The railroad runs west from Red Deer, through the Rockies to Kamloops, then on to the seaport at Squamish. There are 2 branch lines running from Red Deer to Nordegg, and from Kamloops to Osoyoos.

The layout features equipment from the APR, CN, and CP who both have running rights. Operation is primarily focused on switching operations and interchange traffic. The HO scale multi level layout measures approximately 28’ by 30’ and is equipped with ABP signalling on the main line. Trackage is 100% complete and scenery is at approximately 80%. DCC operation is handled with an NCE system with both tethered and radio cabs. The layout is home to about 80 steam/diesel locomotives and 450 freight cars. I use a simple car card system to handle the 30+ industries on the layout.
